Saab Automobile USA has donated a 2008 9-7x 5.3i SUV to Angel Flight West (AFW) as part of its partnership with Air Charity Network to provide necessary ground transportation to AFW’s passengers. Angel Flight West provides people with free flights especially for access to health care and other humanitarian purposes. In addition, the AFW support staff also use this vehicle for disaster relief planning as well as regional promotion.

According to AFW Chief Executive Officer Michael Nanko the generous donation from Saab will definitely help them in increasing the awareness of Angel Flight West’s service across Western United States. He also said that the Saab vehicle is a magnificent machine that provides their patients, staffs, and passengers with a safe and comfortable mode of transportation.

Starting from the creation of the AFW in the year 1983, it has relied on the contributions of both pilot and non-pilot volunteers to help people in need through their unique services.

At present there is an AFW mission flight in the air every hour across the 13 western states that AFW covers. AFW helps the people in these states to gain access to health care benefits particularly those pertaining to cancer and other rare diseases. They also give assistance in situations were transportation is called for like for instance transporting sick kids to camp as well as transport blood and organs.

AFW has a total of 30,000 missions to date and second only in number of missions flown to the US Military.

Aside from donating a Saab vehicle to the Angel Flight West Region, the Swedish-based automaker will also be including the CAN in its marketing activities promoting the agency’s name, logo and contact information on all Saab sales promotional materials.
